All About Different Travel

Different Travel was founded in early 2005, following the Asian Boxing Day tsunami. Our very first groups departed just months later, with a mission to help communities in Sri Lanka and Thailand rebuild their lives after the devastation.

Over the following year, we supported local communities by cleaning beaches, rebuilding homes and businesses, refurbishing schools, and helping restore vital tourist income to destinations that had been deeply affected by the tragedy.

Fast forward almost 20 years, and giving back to the communities we visit remains a core part of our ethos. Responsible, meaningful travel has always been. and continues to be, at the heart of everything we do.

Taking part in one of our adventure trips offers the opportunity to explore parts of the world you may not have previously considered. Whether you’re a seasoned trekker or completely new to adventure travel, we’re here to support you every step of the way, helping you prepare for an unforgettable experience.

Fitness requirements vary depending on the trip. Each adventure has a recommended fitness level, and we provide tailored training advice to help you prepare safely and effectively.

Q: Are your adventure trips fully guided?
Yes. All of our trips are fully guided and supported by experienced local guides, support crew and a UK Different Travel tour manager.

Q: Do I need previous trekking experience?
Not always. Some trips are designed for those new to trekking, while others are more challenging. Our team will help you choose the right adventure for your experience level.

Q: What support do you provide before departure?
