Peru - Butterwick Salkantay to Machu Picchu Trek Challenge

Join Butterwick Hospice on this fundraising charity challenge in Peru. You will spend 3 days working alongside the local community just outside of Cusco to improve conditions at a medical centre, school or community centre. After completing your volunteering challenge it is time for your challenging 4 day trek along the Salkantay Trail, an ancient trail of the Incas. This route takes you through the quieter and more remote regions of other trails and therefore you will see many ancient sites along the way. You trek culminates with a visit to the mystical city of Machu Picchu.

Aberlour Child Care Trust

Our founder believed that “Every child has the ability and indeed the right to grow up and flourish” and 135 years on, we still believe the same.
Over 700 staff in over 40 services throughout Scotland work with children and their families whose lives are affected by disability, are in danger of exclusion from school or the community, suffer with parental substance/alcohol misuse or who need practical help with parenting. We also run the only safe refuge for Scotland’s young runaways. We work with over 6000 children and young people each year and your support will allow us to continue making a positive difference to their lives.

Action on Addiction

1 in 3 people in the UK suffer from an addiction; it is the biggest preventable killer breaking up families, damaging communities and in some way touching us all. Action on Addiction is a unique charity that encompasses groundbreaking research, residential and structured day treatment, family support, vocational work skills training as well as professional education and training.

Ayrshire Cancer Support

Ayrshire Cancer Support has operated in Ayrshire since 1982 providing emotional support and practical help for cancer patients, their families, carers and the bereaved. Our aim is to ensure that help is readily available for everyone who needs it.
Our Cancer Support Centres in Ayr and Kilmarnock were opened in 1997 in response to an identified need for counselling and support services. The centres still operate today providing a drop in facility for cancer patients, their families and the bereaved and provide a range of services including counselling, support groups and complementary therapies.

Bighearted Scotland

Bighearted Scotland is the leading charity partnership in Scotland, working together to raise money to help people and the environment across the country. Diabetes UK is the charity for people with diabetes, their family, friends and carers. Our mission is to improve the lives of people with the condition and work towards a future without diabetes. We are one of the largest patient organisations in Europe. We stand up for the interests of people with diabetes by campaigning for better standards of care. We are one of the largest funder in the UK of research into better treatments for diabetes and the search for a cure.

Epilepsy Scotland

Epilepsy is the world’s commonest serious neurological condition, affecting some 40,000 people in Scotland. It can affect anyone regardless of age, sex or race. Since 1954 Epilepsy Scotland has provided advice, information, support and services to the people in Scotland who have epilepsy together with their families and carers. We are a lifeline for people who need information and advice through our freephone helpline and information service on 0808 800 2200, training and literature.

The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) is a dynamic, innovative and a solutions-based charity. Prospect Hospice

Prospect Hospice is the only provider of dedicated end of life care for Swindon, Marlborough and north-east Wiltshire, and has brought confidence, comfort and care to a growing community for more than thirty years. Prospect's care is given freely to 1400 patients each year, and it costs more than £4.5m to provide, three quarters of which Prospect raises itself. As a charity that is supported by and dedicated to its community, Prospect welcomes the active involvement of supporters through fundraising activity and as volunteers in all areas of its work.

The Scottish Society for Autism

Autism and Asperger Syndrome are lifelong conditions which isolate a person from the world as we know it. They affect the ability to communicate, form relationships and understand everyday activities. The Society has been supporting families in Scotland affected by autism for over 40 years. We are the largest supporter of people wit autism in Scotland as well as offering consultancy and training to hundreds more families and people working in the field of autism.

UK Youth

UK Youth exists to develop and promote innovative non-formal education programmes for and with young people - working with them to develop their potential. Our network supports more than 750,000 young people, 7000 youth groups, clubs and projects and more than 40,000 volunteer and part-time youth workers throughout the UK. Our work with young people makes a lasting impact by encouraging young people to take responsibility and become involved citizens. It gives a voice to people who are too rarely heard and builds skills that will remain useful throughout their lives.

The Ulster Cancer Foundation

The Ulster Cancer Foundation (UCF) is a Northern Ireland charity dedicated to helping patients and their families cope with cancer. We were the first local cancer charity, set up in 1970, with the principal aim of reducing the impact of cancer within the local community. Our mission is to save lives and to provide an enhanced quality of life for all those affected by cancer through our care services, researching new and better treatments for cancer, cancer education and prevention programmes, public campaigns and advocacy. Our work is only possible due to the generosity of local people, who raise almost all the funding needed to provide our services. All the money raised on our behalf is spent in Northern Ireland, helping to support local people with cancer.

St. Oswald's Hospice

St Oswald's provides hospice care for adults and children.Situated in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, St Oswald’s purpose-built facilities offer a range of flexible services to North East families.St Oswald's follows a holistic approach that aims to address not just physical symptoms, but also spiritual and emotional needs too. Families from across the region - Northumberland and Tyne & Wear – can benefit from our services. We are a registered charity. Our annual running costs amount to £8 million – of which £6 million must be raised through voluntary giving. We make no charge for any of our services, ensuring hospice care is available to everyone.

Keech Hospice Care

Keech Hospice Care runs two hospice services - one for adults living in Luton and South Bedfordshire and one for children from across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes. Our aim is to help patients enjoy the highest quality of life, while providing vital support for their family and friends throughout their loved one's illness and in their bereavement. All of the charity's services are offered free of charge, every single day of the year. This is all made possible because of the generous support of the local community.
