The Challenge

The project you will visit is a non-government development organisation working on issues affecting the urban and rural poor, pursuing their vision of 'every child deserves a chance'. The project is located near major slum clusters of Delhi, as this is where the rate of illiteracy is lowest and average family income ranges is only between 2 - 4 dollars a day. The organisation have recently set up a mini hospital just outside Delhi which provides medical assistance to the inhabitants of the nearby village. The mobile clinic focuses on educating women in terms of basic hygiene and health. It is in its early stages, but it is anticipated the group could provide some assistance here, such as improving the clinic facilities, helping produce and distribute leaflets to educate the community about the facilities available, and other activities with the local women and children. No experience required!
